Choir Notes February 24, 2010
Who are your friends? If you are like me, you automatically think of those folks who are in the choir or orchestra, or in your lifeGroup class, or your mission group. Sometimes it’s a bit harder to think of friends who are outside of the church. But it is this group of folks that we need to concentrate on to invite them to Friend Day in March.
Here are some clues that might help us think of folks outside the church: (1) Relatives. Is there someone in your family that does not go to church? This would be a great time to invite them! (2) Neighbors. In our neighborhood, fences were built to keep the pets in. But at the same time, they keep neighbors out. Maybe you don’t know your neighbors all that well. This just might be the opportunity you need to invite them to church. (3) Classmates/Co-workers. Maybe there is someone that your rub shoulders with every day that you could invite.
I want to add a little twist to Friend Day: I would like to have a special Friend Day on Wednesday, March 24. That way, you can invite your friend to not only come to church with you, but come to choir and orchestra as well! And if they are going to sing with us, then they need to rehearse with us. Please be praying about these possibilities. You’ll be hearing more soon!
