Choir Notes - February 3
Last Sunday night was our quarterly Business Meeting for the church. I hope you were there! Oh, sure, we talked about how much money was given, how much was spent, how we are doing compared to other months and years. And sometimes you have to be listening closely to really see how God is at work. Did you hear that our church gave over and above our goal for Lottie Moon offering for foreign missions? Did you hear that our church gave over and above for Margaret Lackey State Missions offering? And that our church gave over and above for the Annie Armstrong Easter offing for stateside missions? And then to follow it with the testimonies of how many people gave over and above as they helped with local missions opportunities in Brandon and Jackson?
The Lord does, indeed, love a cheerful giver. That doesn’t necessarily mean that we have to be grinning from ear to ear all of the time. But it does mean that the Lord loves it when we give out of a heart of gratitude for what He has done for us. And we have to listen closely to realize that giving is not just about money. You give in such a wonderful way every week as you lead in worship. And whether you sing in one, two, or all three services, it is certainly over and above. It is a pleasure ministering with you!
