Stewardship
“Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands.”(Deuteronomy 7:9)
We are all responsible for Stewardship – which is simply the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one’s care.
Many think of stewardship only as it relates to giving, but it is so much more! It is how we care for our children, our business affairs, and our financial resources. Stewardship is the effective management of all of God’s resources, which include earning, spending, saving, investing and giving.
God has given us a great deal of instruction in His Word; in fact, there are 2,650 verses that deal with the subject of how we are to handle money. And it applies to all of us, no matter how much or how little we have.
Jesus tells us in Luke 16:10, “He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much…” Giving with a right attitude is also important, and giving joyfully will bring you so much more than a deduction, God will bless you for it.
Online Giving at First
In our digital age when people are increasingly paying bills and conducting commerce online, First Baptist Brandon has chosen to make online giving available to those who are interested.
First Baptist Brandon teaches that living “debt free” is a worthy goal for all Christians. Online giving does involve the use of credit and debit transactions and makes no distinction between the two. Care and concern should be exercised by every giver in using credit cards for giving. We offer this option only as a convenience and not as a way to circumvent sound biblical money management principles or incur debt.
You are free to give via the weekly offering in the worship service, by mailing your contribution in to the office, by automatic draft or now by the internet. We welcome you to give whatever God has called you to give.
Automatic drafting is available by completing an authorization form and attaching a voided check to the authorization form. Once the form is completed, mail it in to the Financial Office. We currently offer drafting options on the 15th and the last day of each month. Click here to get a copy of the authorization form.
You may also give or make payments through Paypal. This safe and flexible method allows you to schedule a recurring or one-time gift charged to either your debit or credit card.
